Sushi is one of the most popular foods in Japan – a delicious, nutritious and versatile food with tremendous visual appeal.
Now is the time for Cornish people to enjoy sushi and benefit from its many health-giving properties—it has little or no fat, is low in calories and is a source of Omega 3.
It is NOT all about raw fish! Sushi can be entirely vegetarian if you wish, or it can contain fish or seafood. There are three main types of cut sushi as seen below.

Nigiri – small thumb sized portions of rice hand moulded and adorned with a single ingredient, usually fish.
Hosomaki – These ‘Thin Rolls’ normally contain one vegetable or small fish filling and are wrapped in nori (dried seaweed).
Fuotmaki – The ‘Thick Rolls’ are usually filed with a few complimentary ingredients again wrapped in nori but sometime rolled ‘inside out so that the rice is visible on the outside, although this is considered to be a Western variation on the style.
